Tips so GoPro Hero 11, 10, 9 & All Other Cameras Record All-Day-Long!

Hello GoPro Hero 11, Hero 10, 9 & all other action camera owners... glad you found this page. YOLOtek wants you to #AlwaysBeRecording and we are serious. In order to do that, there are some basic settings on your camera so it will record video all-day-long.

NOTE: IF YOU HAVE A GOPRO HERO 11 OR HERO 10 AND GETTING THE MESSAGE:
"NOT ENOUGH POWER" OR "BATTERY TOO COLD", PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE FOR THE SOLUTIONS or just call us 800-488-5512

TIPS ON RECORDING ALL DAY WITH ANY GOPRO OR OTHER ACTION CAMERA:

1. SD Card: Make sure you are using a good quality SD card such as, SanDisk Extreme, Samsung, etc. Every camera company will give you a list of approved SD cards. [We do NOT recommend using an off brand card, unless it comes from a trusted source and fully tested.]

2. Camera settings to record video all-day-long and avoid overheating in most cameras:

..1080p is the best for recording all-day! [GoPro Hero 11/10 standard setting is 4k and can overheat the camera quickly, so change to 1080p.]

..30fps is the best for recording all-day, especially if the air temp is over 90 degrees.

..Turn OFF GPS, as GPS can cause overheating.

..Turn off Video Stabilization if air temp is over 90

3. Prepare SD Care Rated for your Camera: If possible, make sure all good video is off the SD card & reformat the SD card twice before starting recording. (If you cannot pull the video off at the moment, you can skip this step.)

If your camera will NOT record all-day-long after using these settings, please call us 800-488-5512 (You may need to reset to factory settings, install new firmware, use a metal case to dissipate heat, pull camera battery out once the video is recoridng (not water resistent), etc. Just call us, we can help!

GoPro Hero 11 & 10: "NOT ENOUGH POWER"

Question: Should I take the internal battery out of my GoPro Hero 11/10 or other action camera?

Answer: NO, not usually. Using the settings above will allow you to record all-day with the battery in.

"NOT ENOUGH POWER", Your GoPro will power off. Connect to a 5V/2A power source or higher to use your GoPro without a battery. (This is NOT true, just watch the first video here https://yolotek.com/pages/howtovideos) We recommend to put the GoPro battery back in, use the settings above and your camera will record all-day-long with the battery in. Any questions or issues, please call us 800-488-5512

GOPRO HERO 10... Look Ma, No Battery. We hope that GoPro will release both Hero 10 and 11 firmware to allow using external power that is not their new VOLTA.

We normally recommend GoPro owners keep the internal battery in the GoPro, but there are times in high heat and low wind when customers may need to remove the battery, so it won't overheat. As you probably know by now GoPro released a few GH10 updates and stopped allowing customers to record with the internal battery pulled out. Currently: If you remove the GH10 internal battery, you will get an error message such as…

GoPro is aware of this issues and states GoPro will fix it in the future.

NOTE: You can record all-day-long with your GoPro Hero 10 with the internal battery in, using the tips above... but for now we will assume you have made the decision to record without the internal camera battery with your GoPro Hero 10... In this case, Hero 10 owners will need to downgrade their firmware to v1.16 in order for the GoPro to record. This just takes a few minutes.

1. Click here to download GoPro Hero 10 firmware v1.16

2. Save the folder Update on an SD card

3. Insert the SD card into the GH10 that is powered off, then power the GH10 on and the firmware will be downgraded.

That's it,,, now you are ready to pull the GH10 battery out and start recording. Hopefully GoPro will fix the next firmware, so you can record the GoPro the way you want. It is good to have options.

We hope GoPro also gives Hero 11 options too.
